Farewell to Mark

A surprise party was held in Ockbrook last week to say goodbye to PC Mark Phillips. The Borrowash area manager has left his post after 12 years in the Parish. Mark knew nothing about the event when he turned up at the Royal Oak for a drink. The evenings started with some local children singing a special song written by Tracy Stear to the tune of Bob the Builder. Reverend Michael Webster presented him with a Policeman hand puppet and then a Mark Phillips “This was Your Bea,” told his story in the “This is Your Life” style. Everyone enjoyed the evening but most of all Mark and his family. Mark said “I was a little surprised and a little embarrassed but enjoyed another lasting memory of my time in the Parish”. Marks beat in the parish as now been taken over by PC Phil Day.
